As always, the festival presents a broad palette of artistic positions with works based on real and imagined journeys to these regions and contributions by artists from bordering countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Werner Dafeldecker describes his voyage to Antarctica and presents a selection of the field recordings he made there. The programme also includes the audiovisual composition <i>Orchestronics <\/i>by the Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir and Werner Raditschnig\u2019s electroacoustic performance <i>Eisklang<\/i>. This year\u2019s <i>shut up and listen! Award<\/i> goes to four winners: Chin Ting Chan, Cormac Crawley, Aur\u00e9lio Edler-Copes and Robert Schwarz. In addition to performing Edler-Copes\u2019s award-winning work, Andrej Serkow plays two more pieces for accordion and sound projection: <i>Dinosaurus <\/i>by the Norwegian composer Arne Nordheim and Belma Be\u0161li\u0107-G\u00e1l\u2019s <i>Jan Mayen (Remembering Beerenberg)<\/i>, which was inspired by the Norwegian adventurer Erik Aaseth\u2019s expedition to the island of the same name. The Spanish filmmaker Carlos Casas presents his audiovisual field recordings from the Chukchi Peninsula at the outer reaches of northeastern Siberia in <i>Siberian Fieldworks (Fieldworks#10)<\/i>. In his performance <i>Gl\u00fchlampenmusik <\/i>Michael Vorfeld makes reference to the magical attraction of blue light. An exhibition shows visual artist Petra Sandner\u2019s impressions of a trip to the Arctic regions of Northern Canada.
